Eskom is offering a great opportunity for young South Africans through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative. This programme is part of a national plan to help reduce youth unemployment by giving young people real work experience.
If you’re between the ages of 18 and 34, currently unemployed, and looking to start building your career, this might be for you.
What’s being offered:
Successful candidates will get a 12-month internship with Eskom. You’ll be placed at one of their operations in any of the provinces, depending on where you’re needed. It’s a chance to learn, gain experience, and get a feel for the working world.
Who should apply:
- South African citizens only
- Age 18–34
- Must have completed Grade 12 or have an equivalent qualification
- You shouldn’t be studying full-time during the internship
- You must not have taken part in the YES programme before
- You also shouldn’t have been permanently employed for more than one year
If you meet the criteria and want to gain real work experience, this is a great way to get started.
