About the Sasol Chemical Plant Operator Learnership 2026
Sasol is offering five learnership positions for aspiring Chemical Plant Operators in Alberton. This learnership provides a structured blend of theoretical training and hands-on practical experience, designed to build the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a professional plant operations environment.
Participants will gain exposure to real-world operations, guided mentorship, and the opportunity to develop the critical technical and problem-solving skills required in the chemical and energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
As a learner, you will be actively involved in daily plant operations and safety procedures. Duties include:
- Performing emergency procedures when required
- Reading, interpreting, and executing task risk assessments
- Identifying hazards and participating in task risk evaluations
- Attending daily meetings to review work assignments
- Meeting deadlines that contribute to Sasol’s business goals
- Providing accurate feedback to supervisors on work progress
- Participating in root cause analyses and reporting to RCA teams
- Supporting safety compliance through risk assessments
- Maintaining proper housekeeping and waste disposal standards
Eligibility Criteria

- N3 Certificate or equivalent to Grade 12
- National Senior Certificate with passes in:

- Proficiency in Mathematics
