Omnia’s Fertilizer Division is offering an exciting opportunity for young South Africans who want to build a practical and valuable career in mechanical fitting. The apprenticeship will take place in Sasolburg, Free State, where selected candidates will receive both theoretical training and hands-on workplace experience in a leading fertilizer manufacturing environment.

What the Training Includes
Successful applicants will:
- Attend formal theory training at an accredited institution.
- Gain practical experience working on machinery within the fertilizer plant.
- Learn how to install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment.
- Follow a structured training programme in line with CHIETA requirements.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following:
Grade 12 with these subjects:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- English
- Mechanical Fitter Trade Theory
OR N3 Certificate with:
- N3 Mathematics
- N3 Engineering Science
- N3 Engineering Drawing
- N3 Mechanical Fitter Trade Theory
OR NCV Level 4 in Mechanical Trade Theory.
Learners currently completing these subjects are also encouraged to apply. No prior work experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Apprentices will:
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Work with tools and industrial machinery.
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical faults.
- Maintain records of completed tasks.
- Follow safety and quality standards at all times.
