Position Overview
UD Trucks Pretoria East is offering an exciting opportunity for a Level 1 Apprentice (Year 1). The successful candidate will report to the Service Manager and will be responsible for assisting with the repair and servicing of trucks and buses in line with dealer and distributor standards. The role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fault-finding and diagnostic assessments on vehicles
- Use diagnostic equipment effectively during inspections and repairs
- Adhere to DCSA procedures and company policies
- Diagnose vehicle faults accurately to ensure customer satisfaction
- Communicate technical information clearly with Service Advisors when required
- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and vehicle care
- Minimise repeat repairs through accurate diagnosis and quality work
- Attend breakdown calls when necessary
- Ensure vehicles are returned clean and presentable
- Collect, use, and return parts correctly in coordination with the Parts Department
- Complete job cards, service reports, and documentation accurately and on time
- Participate in training programmes provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors
- Assist with promotional activities and other reasonable duties
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Specific Role Duties
- Provide technical and diagnostic support within the service department
- Operate and interpret results from modern diagnostic equipment
- Discuss service and repair details with customers when required
- Perform servicing and repairs on electrical components as needed

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- N2 qualification including:
- Engineering Science
- Technical Drawing
- Mathematics
- Diesel Trade Theory
