Programme Overview
Transnet Port Terminals invites applications for its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Non-Technical Learner Programme. This structured 18-month programme is designed to provide students and recent graduates with practical workplace experience aligned to their academic qualifications.
The programme combines hands-on work exposure, mentorship, and structured learning to help participants build valuable professional skills within a leading port operations environment.
Positions are available at the Cape Town and Saldanha Terminals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Task Execution
- Support departmental projects and daily operations
- Perform assigned tasks under supervision
- Assist with administration, reporting, and documentation
2. Learning & Development
- Participate in training sessions and workshops
- Shadow experienced professionals
- Contribute to problem-solving activities
3. Communication & Collaboration
- Engage with internal teams and stakeholders
- Provide updates on assigned responsibilities
- Assist with responding to queries
4. Compliance & Safety
- Follow company policies and safety procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards
5. Research & Analysis
- Conduct data collection and basic research
- Prepare reports and presentations using MS Office
- Support process improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- N6 qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- South African citizen
- Aged between 18β35 years
- No bursary obligation with another organisation
- Preference given to People with Disabilities
