Purpose of the Role

The CIT Driver is responsible for the secure collection, transportation, and delivery of cash and valuables between client sites, branches, and secure facilities. The successful candidate will operate armored vehicles, adhere strictly to security protocols, and respond effectively to potential risks or threats.

This position demands exceptional situational awareness, tactical readiness, and unwavering professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Secure Transportation of Funds

Safely load, transport, and offload cash and valuables
Follow all operational and security procedures
Ensure route compliance and schedule accuracy

2️⃣ Risk Management & Incident Prevention

Remain vigilant throughout operations
Identify and report suspicious activities immediately
Respond swiftly and appropriately to threats or emergencies

3️⃣ Communication & Coordination

Maintain continuous radio contact with control room and crew
Provide real-time updates on routes and delays
Follow management instructions during emergencies

4️⃣ Tactical Preparedness

Apply tactical and defensive driving techniques when necessary
Demonstrate readiness for high-risk situations
Maintain composure under pressure

Minimum Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

Clear criminal record
Clear credit record
Valid Driver’s License with PDP
PSIRA Grade C accreditation
SAPS competency certificate
Valid CIT certificate

Required Training

Firearm training (handgun and rifle)
Tactical combat training
Defensive/tactical driving training (advantageous)

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in Cash-In-Transit driving
Proven experience in security or high-risk operational environments
