Job Overview – Security Officer Grade B
We are seeking dedicated, professional, and experienced Grade B Security Officers to join our team in Gauteng. The successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security across our client sites, including residential estates, corporate offices, retail spaces, and educational institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Supervisory & Leadership Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate security teams.
- Conduct daily briefings, assign shifts, and maintain discipline.
- Enforce compliance with site and company security standards.
Access Control & Visitor Management:
- Monitor entry and exit points to ensure secure access.
- Verify visitor identities and maintain accurate logs.
- Regulate pedestrian and vehicle traffic on-site.
Patrols & Physical Security:
- Conduct regular site patrols and inspections.
- Secure premises after hours (doors, windows, gates).
- Identify and address security risks proactively.
Incident & Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies.
- Handle trespassers and incidents professionally following legal protocols.
- Coordinate with emergency services when required.
Surveillance & Monitoring:
- Monitor CCTV and other security systems.
- Detect suspicious activity and potential threats.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed incident reports and observation logs.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and client communications.
Client Service & Professional Conduct:
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors.
- Uphold high ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
Compliance & Equipment Management:
- Follow company policies, PSIRA standards, and legal requirements.
- Ensure security equipment (CCTV, radios, access control systems) is operational.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Valid PSIRA Certificate Grade B
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Previous security experience
- Knowledge of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems
- Strong observation, reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm during conflicts and emergencies
- Physically fit, able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Driver’s license (advantageous)
- Firearm competency (advantageous)
