About the Cashier: Station Fare Collection Position

The Cashier: Station Fare Collection role supports the daily operations of the IRPTN transport system. The successful candidate will be responsible for ticket sales, cash handling, passenger assistance, and administrative duties to ensure efficient transport services for the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive cash payments and balance daily cash collections
  • Prepare cash for bank deposits
  • Assist passengers with enquiries about fares and transport services
  • Maintain cashbooks and passenger records using Microsoft Excel
  • Archive documents for audit and record-keeping purposes
  • Handle administrative tasks related to special bus hire requests
  • Keep the cashier office clean, organised, and professional
  • Assist the public with complaints and enquiries
  • Respond to telephone enquiries and refer issues to relevant departments
  • Provide feedback on unresolved enquiries

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • At least 1 year experience working as a cashier
