Job Summary
As a Driver / Warehouse Worker, you will combine driving responsibilities with warehouse operations. You will ensure the safe handling, transport, and delivery of goods, maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery
- Safely operate company vehicles (Code 10 or Code 14, as required) for transporting goods.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using GPS technology.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, obtain customer signatures, and manage invoices and delivery notes.
Warehouse & Stock Management
- Load and unload goods securely at warehouses and customer locations.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damages, verify quantities, and store items correctly.
- Pick, pack, and label orders according to customer requirements.
- Assist in inventory control and stock counts using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Safety & Workplace Maintenance
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks following all safety guidelines.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols to minimize workplace risks.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Code C1 driver’s licence with a clean driving record and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or delivery role (preferred).
- 2–3 years driving experience with safe driving practices.
Skills & Competencies
- Good physical fitness; able to lift items weighing 25–40 kg and stand for long periods.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry, inventory, and logistics software.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and mobile apps for route planning.
- Forklift certification is an advantage.
