Job Overview

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa is offering a twelve-month structured Visual Merchandiser Learnership for unemployed South African youth. This learnership provides work-based learning designed to equip participants with commercial knowledge and practical skills to service customers, increase sales volume, facilitate the order-taking process, and implement, execute, and monitor merchandising standards for both direct and indirect customers within a designated geographical area.

The successful candidate will report to the Account Developer and interact closely with the sales team, the account developer, and consumers to understand preferences, behaviours, and market trends that inform sales strategies and product development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

In-Store Execution and Merchandising Excellence:

  • Execute daily call schedules across assigned bronze and tin outlets in alignment with planned call objectives
  • Implement visual merchandising standards, rotate stock, and maintain in-store displays according to Coca-Cola brand guidelines
  • Ensure product quality, availability, and visibility in line with the RED standards and execution scorecard, including completion of the iRED survey
  • Support and educate customers on placing orders using the MyCCBA platform
  • Assist in executing promotional activities to enhance brand visibility and sales
  • Provide relief support as directed by the line manager

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Work together with sales team members to share knowledge, support daily tasks, and achieve sales targets
  • Receive guidance, training, and feedback from the sales account developer to understand the broader sales process and ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Interact with consumers to understand their preferences and behaviours to inform sales and marketing strategies

Requirements

  • Education: Grade Twelve with Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy with a minimum pass rate of forty percent
  • Grade Twelve Communication in English and a second language with a minimum pass rate of forty percent
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be an Employment Equity candidate
  • Age between eighteen and thirty-five years
  • Must be unemployed at the time of appointment
  • Must have no criminal record or adverse credit record
  • Must consent to criminal, identification, and qualification verification
  • Must be available to work six days per week
  • A valid driver’s licence is advantageous as it may be required for travelling to different store locations
  • Must not be enrolled in any current learnership programme or full-time studies
  • Must not have previously completed the same qualification or learnership at another company or organisation
  • A post-matric qualification in Sales and Marketing is an advantage

Learnership Details

  • Duration: Twelve months
  • Minimum value of one hundred and twenty credits required to qualify for the full qualification
  • Learners will gain practical experience in sales, merchandising, customer service, and brand promotion
