Senior Compliance Management Role – Defence Industry
Job Overview
The successful candidate will manage compliance verification in the defence-related industry, ensuring that the trade in controlled items and possession of such items is conducted in accordance with the Relevant Firearms Management Act (RFMA), National Conventional Arms Control (NCAC) Act, and accompanying regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage compliance verification in the defence-related industry
- Conduct national and international verifications for foreign end users, including meetings, shows, and exhibitions
- Provide advice to the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC) regarding compliance verification
- Manage the review process for all permits issued to companies
- Oversee gathering of information to support the imposition of administrative fines in cases of non-compliance
- Manage all resources, including human, financial, and assets
- Oversee performance management (PMDS) and training of subordinates
- Ensure compliance with financial management, human resource management, and general operations management
- Demonstrate ability to lead and provide direction to subordinates

Job Information

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 11 or equivalent (NQF Level 3)
- Minimum three years’ experience in a food service aid environment
Required Skills and Special Requirements
- Language proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Planning and organising skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Operating skills in a food service environment
- Inventory management and cleaning knowledge
- Understanding of health and safety regulations to prevent contamination
- Ability to work after hours during functions and formal dinners
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise food service aids and create shift schedules
- Manage attendance and ensure adequate staffing
- Ensure the dining hall is clean, tables are neat, set correctly according to the menu
- Train staff on food safety
- Ensure cutlery, serviettes, condiments, butter, and jams are available on tables
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Assist in preparing and serving food
- Report losses, damages, and theft
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet standards

Minimum Requirements
- ABET Level 4 or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a cleaning services environment
Required Skills
- Knowledge of types and purpose of cleaning materials and operating cleaning equipment
- Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Ability to manage large staff component
- Good interpersonal and effective communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise cleaning services effectively
- Inspect physical environments to ensure hygiene and cleanliness
- Monitor availability and condition of cleaning equipment
- Control inventory of cleaning materials and equipment
- Order, receive, and issue cleaning materials
- Compile cleaning reports and draft cleaning programs for various buildings
- Liaise with senior staff regarding problems in a timely manner
- Control and manage leave and discipline for cleaning personnel
- Manage staff according to PMDS
