About the Job
The General Worker (Intake) will be responsible for assisting with truck offloading, sample collection, inspections, and maintaining cleanliness within the intake area. This role requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Offload trucks and collect samples from incoming loads
- Conduct truck inspections and ensure compliance
- Test samples and deliver them to the laboratory
- Clean intake areas, machines, and manage overflowing bins
- Assist with maintenance and repair of intake machinery
- Follow food safety and health & safety regulations
- Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Perform general housekeeping duties
- Work independently and as part of a team

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience
- Milling or production environment experience (advantageous)
- Ability to perform heavy physical labour
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of machinery and equipment maintenance
- Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Good problem-solving and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to work under pressure
