🔹 Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker, you will be responsible for supporting production operations while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Food Safety requirements. Core responsibilities include:

  • Preparing production areas by ensuring all equipment, materials, and packaging are ready (tape guns, sellotape, pallets, wrapping, etc.)
  • Executing daily production activities to achieve operational targets
  • Performing manual activities to produce safe, high-quality products
  • Escalating production obstacles such as material defects, line stoppages, or safety incidents
  • Managing waste collection within and around the production facility
  • Maintaining clean, safe, and orderly workstations and surrounding areas in accordance with GMP and Food Safety governance
  • Adhering to all quality requirements, procedures, and policies
  • Executing 5S, Teamwork, PMC, and Focused Improvement Pillar activities as per MECP standards
  • Supporting loss capturing by documenting production losses as required
  • Performing safe and efficient startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures
  • Reporting absenteeism, time, and attendance delays to supervisors or HR
  • Packing products accurately, ensuring correct quantities and proper sealing of boxes
  • Palletizing products in correct format
  • Checking date codes and sealing quality continuously
  • Monitoring packing machines in the absence of the operator and stopping the line if necessary
  • Performing housekeeping and “Clean as You Go” daily and weekly schedules, including equipment cleaning and debris removal
  • Inspecting for signs of infestation and reporting findings
  • Executing additional reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors or management

🔹 Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications and competencies:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent; Mathematics and Physics are advantageous
  • Knowledge: Food and Occupational Safety
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to work standards, teamwork, and reliability
  • Flexibility: Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required
