About the Driver Instructor Role

The Driver Instructor is responsible for training, coaching, and developing Code 14 drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transport operations across the company’s fleet. The role focuses on improving driver behaviour, road safety standards, and operational performance.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric certificate)
  • Valid Code 14 driver’s licence with PDP
  • Proven experience as a Code 14 Driver Trainer
  • Excellent driving record
  • Defensive driving skills
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Report writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

Advantageous Requirements

  • Assessor or Facilitator certificate
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring drivers
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Emotional intelligence and leadership ability

Key Responsibilities

The Driver Instructor will:

  • Provide practical on-road and classroom driver training
  • Coach Code 14 drivers and learners on safe driving practices
  • Conduct driver assessments during recruitment and onboarding
  • Improve driver behaviour and reduce road risks
  • Identify fuel efficiency issues linked to driving habits
  • Provide feedback and performance reports
