AfriSam Learnership 2026 for Unemployed South African Youth
AfriSam is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for the Zeekoewater Learnership 2026 (Section 18.2 Fitter) at its quarry operation in Mpumalanga.
This learnership programme offers structured trade training and practical workplace experience for candidates interested in building a career in the mining, engineering, and construction materials industry.

The Zeekoewater Quarry provides learners with valuable hands-on industrial training in a professional quarry environment.
What is a Section 18.2 Learnership?
A Section 18.2 Learnership is a structured training programme registered under the Skills Development Act. It combines:
- Classroom-based theoretical training
- Practical workplace experience
Learners will sign a formal learnership agreement registered with the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA), which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be unemployed South African youth and meet one of the following qualifications:
Option 1: Grade 12
- Pure Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
- Physical Science
- English
Option 2: N2 Certificate
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Two additional relevant subjects
Option 3: Engineering NCV Certificate
- 7 subjects at NQF Level 4
Option 4: Technical Grade 11
- Mathematics
- Science
- Language subject
- Trade-related theory subject
Option 5
- Relevant N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma (T, S or N stream)
A valid driver’s licence will be an advantage but is not compulsory.
