AgriSETA, South Africa’s leading authority for agricultural skills development, is inviting young South Africans to apply for its comprehensive learning programmes. These include graduate placements, internships, bursaries, artisan development, learnerships, and skills programmes aimed at equipping candidates with practical experience and industry-recognised qualifications.
Applications for all AgriSETA learning programmes open annually on 1 August and close on 15 September.
Available Programmes
AgriSETA offers a range of structured learning pathways, including:
1. Graduate Placements & Internships
- Gain hands-on experience in agricultural and agro-processing sectors.
- Receive mentorship from industry professionals.
- Develop workplace readiness while contributing to meaningful projects.
2. Bursaries
- Support for students pursuing full-time tertiary qualifications in agriculture and related fields.
- Coverage may include tuition, registration fees, and study materials.
3. Artisan Development
- Structured vocational training to develop trade skills for the agricultural industry.
- Combines classroom-based theory with practical workplace experience.
4. Skills Programmes
- Focused on occupationally-based skills development for immediate workplace application.
- Can be offered as standalone modules or combined to lead to a full SAQA-registered qualification over time.
5. Learnerships
- A vocational education and training programme combining theory and practical experience.
- Successful completion leads to an NQF-registered qualification, enhancing employability in the agricultural sector.
6. Support to Rural Structures
- Mentorship programmes and training for commodity organisations and Adult Education and Training (AET) initiatives.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for AgriSETA learning programmes, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be aged 18–40 years.
- Have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
Applicants should also ensure that applications are submitted through AgriSETA or accredited service providers only. AgriSETA is not responsible for applications submitted via non-accredited facilitators.
