Buyers Assistant Job Description
The Buyers Assistant role supports the Buying team in achieving commercial and strategic objectives. This position involves data entry, purchase order processing, invoice handling, and administration of the buying process. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and store teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Capture and maintain buying-related data on SAP Buying systems.
- Process purchase orders and invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with cost and pricing setup for products and ensure correct pack sizes.
- Quality check product information and retail pricing.
- Resolve store and vendor queries promptly.
- Liaise with replenishment teams to support timely stock delivery.
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Generate reports to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support buyers in decimaking.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate (essential)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail buying or administrative support role (essential)
- Exposure to retail buying environments and SAP Buying (desired)
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, especially Excel, to prepare reports and detailed spreadsheets

- Strong organizational and administrative skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
