If you’re dreaming of a future in finance, tech, or any space where banking meets innovation, Capitec might just be the one to back you. Their 2026 bursary programme is now open, and they’re calling on students with big plans and solid marks to step forward.
Whether you’re in Matric this year or already studying full-time toward your degree, here’s your chance to get support that actually covers the things that matter — from tuition and textbooks to accommodation and even a stipend.
Who They’re Looking For
Capitec’s not just throwing bursaries around — they’re looking to invest in students who want to shape the future of banking and financial services. The bursaries are for undergraduate and honours studies (NQF Level 7 and up) in key fields like:
- Actuarial Science
- Economics
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Finance
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Quantitative Management
- Information Systems
- Digital Marketing
What the Bursary Covers
Capitec takes care of more than just tuition. Here’s what selected students can expect to be covered:
- Registration fees
- Full tuition fees
- Textbooks
- Accommodation
- Monthly living stipend
And if you keep your grades up, the bursary could be renewed each year — as long as the budget allows and you’re making academic progress.
There’s a Catch (But It’s a Good One)
After graduating, you’ll need to work for Capitec for the same number of years they funded your studies. But honestly, that’s more of a win than a catch. It means guaranteed work experience and a proper step into your career — not a bad deal at all.
