Key Responsibilities
As part of the Dis-Chem Retail Cosmetics Learnership, learners will be trained and expected to perform duties across stock control, merchandising, and customer service.
1. Stock Control
- Ensure products on shelves are within sell-by dates.
- Keep shelves fully stocked and participate in stock takes.
- Organise storerooms and report damaged, expired, or out-of-stock items.
- Follow stock rotation procedures and maintain neat storage areas.
2. Merchandising
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and product presentation.
- Set up attractive displays in-store and in window areas.
- Conduct product demonstrations, makeovers, and promotions.
- Price and label goods correctly, ensuring stock is displayed and rotated properly.
- Assist with loading/off-loading of stock when needed.
3. Customer Service
- Provide professional, friendly, and helpful service to all customers.
- Assist at the Cosmetics Department Point of Sale (POS).
- Offer advice without pressuring customers to switch brands.
- Resolve customer stock queries quickly and effectively.
