So, here’s the deal. Kagiso Trust is opening the door for young South Africans who are done with their studies and stuck in that annoying “no experience = no job, no job = no experience” loop. They’ve launched a 12-month internship programme, and they’re looking for real people ready to get their hands dirty in the working world.
📍 Based in Johannesburg
🗓️ Deadline: 31 July 2025
🧑🎓 Open to unemployed grads between 18–35
This is not an employment contract. But if you’re serious about building your future and getting proper on-the-job experience? This could be the move.
What Kind of Internships Are They Offering?
It’s not just one or two roles — there are 14. Some are admin-heavy, others are more people-focused. Here’s the lowdown:
Socio-Economic Development
(Ref: SED2025JHB)
If you studied Agricultural Economics or something along those lines, this one’s for you. You’ll work on business planning, fund management, and even some light data analysis.
Programme Management & Research
(Ref: PMR2024JHB)
Perfect for folks from Social Sciences, Dev Studies, or Project Management backgrounds. You’ll deal with paperwork, do some basic research, and help keep internal projects ticking.
Policy Development
(Ref: PD2025JHB)
Got a background in Politics, Development Policy, or Economics? This one’s policy-heavy — expect to do a mix of tracking updates and writing docs.
Local Government Support
(Ref: LGS2025JHB)
For those with a Project Management qualification. It’s a mix of admin, budgeting, working with stakeholders, and some data collection.
IT (Information Technology)
(Ref: ICT2025JHB)
This one’s for the techies — computer science, systems support, all that. You’ll help with general IT support and systems work.
Human Resources
(Ref: HR2025JHB)
Pretty straightforward. If you’ve got HR or something like Industrial Psychology under your belt, you’ll help with files, hiring, payroll support — the usual.
Finance
(Ref: FIN2025JHB)
Accounting or Finance grads — you’ll work on payment tracking, asset control, and preparing docs for audit.
Executive Office
(Ref: EO2025JHB)
If you’re organized and have decent admin skills, this one’s more general but still solid. You’ll assist higher-ups with scheduling and reports.
Education Research
(Ref: EDU2025JHB)
If you’ve got a research brain and at least a degree (Honours is even better), you’ll work on education data, support learning platforms, and dig into stats.
Civil Society Support
(Ref: CSS2025JHB)
Even if you’ve only got Matric, this one’s an option. You’ll be doing a lot of community work and helping out at development events.
Legal / Company Secretariat
(Ref: CSL2025JHB)
Got a background in law or governance? This role covers everything from policy review to minute-taking and board pack prep.
Marketing & Communications
(Ref: CM2025JHB)
If you’re into content, PR, or digital media, you’ll help manage social posts, write newsletters, and support campaigns.
What You Need to Apply
Have this stuff ready before you send anything:
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate
- Certified copy of your SA ID
- Your latest academic transcript (certified)
- A short CV
- A motivational letter (minimum 3 pages — tell them your story, not just “I’m a hard worker”)
- Use the correct reference number in your subject line
📧 Send all docs to: recruitment@kagiso.co.za
A Few Important Notes:
- You must be unemployed
- You can’t have done an internship in the same field before
- No transcript = automatic disqualification
- If you’ve done a similar internship before and try to hide it, you’ll be disqualified too
This isn’t one of those “we’ll call you” ghost-job things. Kagiso Trust actually gives young people a foot in the door. If you’re sitting at home with a degree and no way forward, don’t wait. Just apply.
