💰 Salary Scale
- CB1-1: R212 358 per year (± R17 697 per month)
- CB1-2: R257 895 per year (± R21 491 per month)
- CB1-3: R313 521 per year (± R26 127 per month)
Placement will be determined by qualifications and relevant experience.
🎯 Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)
- Completed Correctional Science Learnership / Basic Training / ITC
- Firearm competency
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of correctional services legislation and security procedures
- Good communication and report-writing skills
🧾 Experience Requirements
- CB1-1: Entry-level (no experience required)
- CB1-2: 10 years’ experience at CB1-1 level
- CB1-3: 10 years’ experience at CB1-2 level
🔐 Key Duties
- Control and monitor access within correctional facilities
- Supervise inmates inside and outside the facility
- Escort offenders to courts or external institutions
- Conduct routine security inspections
- Operate security control rooms
- Ensure safe custody and humane detention
- Promote discipline, order, and rehabilitation programmes
