Position Details
- Job Title: Road Worker – Transport Infrastructure Maintenance
- Number of Posts: 6
- Salary Range: R163 680 – R192 810 per annum (Level 3)
- Locations:
- Alfred Nzo District – 3 Posts
- Amathole District – 3 Posts
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must have:
- ABET Level 2
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence
- Basic literacy (ability to read and write)
- Good communication skills
- Physical fitness and medical suitability
- Willingness to work after hours when required
Previous experience is not compulsory, but experience in road maintenance or construction will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will assist with:
- Vegetation and bush clearing
- Pothole repairs and road marking
- Installation of road signs and guardrails
- Culvert cleaning and installation
- Gravel and surfaced road maintenance
- Loading/offloading materials
- Drain cleaning and erosion control
This position involves manual labour and outdoor work under varying weather conditions.
