Overview

Prestige Clothing, part of the TFG group, is seeking a skilled Sewing Machine Mechanic to join our Maintenance team in Durban. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced candidates to maintain and repair industrial sewing machines and allied equipment in a fast-paced clothing production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair, service, and maintain industrial sewing machines and related equipment
• Set up machines and perform test runs to ensure optimal operation
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update reports regularly
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on machinery
• Coach and support trainee mechanics in their development
• Collect and maintain technical data for machinery and equipment
• Assist with other tasks within the maintenance department as required

Requirements

• 3–4 years’ experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance in a clothing production environment
• NQF4 qualification in repairs and maintenance of sewing machines or equivalent (advantageous)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict production targets
• Strong English communication skills (reading and writing)
• Ability to work in a team and flexible hours as required
