
Vopak Apprenticeship Programme 2026: Electrical, Mechanical & Instrumentation Opportunities
Vopak South Africa is inviting applications for its 2026 Apprenticeship Programme at its Durban and Lesedi terminals. This opportunity is open to TVET graduates who have completed at least an N6 Certificate in Engineering Studies and are seeking practical workplace training in the petrochemical and tank storage sector.
The programme offers structured, hands-on technical training over four years, culminating in a Trade Test qualification.
About the Apprenticeship Programme
The Vopak Apprenticeship Programme is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical studies and real-world industry experience. Apprentices will gain exposure to a dynamic terminal environment, working alongside experienced artisans and technical professionals.
Over the four-year period, participants will:
- Develop practical, trade-specific skills
- Gain cross-functional exposure within terminal operations
- Build a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE)
- Prepare for and complete a Trade Test
Vopak provides guidance and support throughout the apprenticeship, particularly with compiling the Portfolio of Evidence required for qualification.

Minimum Requirements
All applicants must:
- Hold a Matric certificate with Mathematics and Science
- Have completed at least an N6 Certificate in the relevant engineering discipline
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety
- Show eagerness to learn and grow within a technical environment
