The Department of Health invites applications for six (6) Cleaner positions within the Primary Health Care Directorate in the Ekurhuleni Health District. These posts are essential in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control standards in healthcare facilities.

- Nokuthela Ngwenya CHC – 3 posts
- Andries Draditsela Clinic – 1 post
- Kwa-Thema CHC – 1 post
- Phillip Moyo CHC – 1 post
💰 Salary
R138 486 – R163 131 per annum
(Plus applicable government benefits)
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Education:
- AET Level 4 (Grade 9) or
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months relevant cleaning experience (hospital or clinic experience will be an advantage)
🧹 Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all designated areas including offices, consulting rooms, waiting areas, bathrooms, corridors, and external spaces
- Sweep, mop, scrub, polish, and vacuum floors
- Handle general and medical waste in accordance with Health Care Waste Management procedures
- Perform high dusting and disinfect surfaces
- Clean equipment, appliances, and communal areas
- Respond to spillages and contamination immediately
- Assist with laundry duties where required
- Serve meals to patients when necessary
- Comply with Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards

- Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
