South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced 81 General Worker vacancies at Kruger National Park. This is an excellent opportunity for unemployed South Africans seeking work experience within the government and tourism sector.
These positions are available in the Marula Region, Nxanatseni Region, and various rest camps across the park. Contracts include 6-month fixed-term positions and temporary school holiday contracts.

About SANParks
SANParks is responsible for managing South Africa’s national parks and protecting the country’s natural heritage. Kruger National Park, its flagship reserve, attracts millions of visitors each year and requires ongoing maintenance and operational support to maintain world-class standards.
To support daily operations, SANParks is recruiting General Workers to assist with gardening, cleaning, housekeeping, and general maintenance duties.

41 x General Workers – Gardening Services (Marula Region)

- Location: Marula Region, Kruger National Park
15 x General Workers – Gardening Services (Nxanatseni Region)
- Contract: 6-month Fixed-Term
- Grade: Paterson FTC-A1
- Location: Nxanatseni Region, Kruger National Park
25 x General Workers – Temporary School Holiday Contracts
- Location: Various camps within Kruger National Park
- Contract periods:
- 20 March – 03 May 2026
- 12 June – 31 August 2026
- 23 September – 06 October 2026
- 11 December 2026 – 16 January 2027
Camps include Mopani, Letaba, Olifants, Punda Maria, Phalaborwa Gate, and others.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have Grade 12 (Matric)
- Be physically fit and able to work outdoors
- Have basic knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Be able to work well in a team
- Possess good communication skills
Added Advantages
- Gardening or landscaping experience
- Chainsaw or brush cutter skills
- Housekeeping or cleaning experience
- Ability to handle tools and equipment
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates may be required to:
- Clean and maintain camps, public areas, and facilities
- Perform lawn mowing and garden maintenance
- Assist with waste management and recycling
- Clean chalets, ablution blocks, and swimming pools
- Report maintenance faults
- Support camp operations during peak tourism seasons
