Internship Overview
Safety SA is offering a Business Development Internship for 2026, aimed at recent graduates who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a real-world B2B commercial environment. The intern will support the business development team with research, lead generation, sales support, reporting, and client engagement activities.
This opportunity is ideal for a motivated graduate with strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills who wants to understand how commercial and sales functions operate in practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Market Research
- Conduct market, sector, and client research to identify new business opportunities
- Build and maintain databases of potential clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and relevant tenders
- Capture and update leads, contacts, and opportunities on CRM systems
Sales Support & Pipeline Management
- Assist with preparing sales presentations, proposals, pricing documents, and capability decks
- Track meeting outcomes, follow-ups, and next action items
- Support sales meetings and pipeline review sessions with accurate data
- Ensure sales documentation is well-organised and up to date
Client Engagement Support
- Assist with client onboarding processes, including document collection and setup
- Coordinate meetings, demos, workshops, and introductory sessions
- Provide basic support on commercial queries and feedback channels
Reporting & Analytics
- Compile basic reports on leads, conversions, and pipeline performance
- Assist with win/loss analysis, customer segmentation, and insights
- Support the creation of dashboards and summaries for management reporting
Minimum Requirements
A completed Bachelorโs Degree or Diploma in one of the following (or a related field):
- Business Administration
- Economics
- Finance
- Marketing Management
- Commercial Management
- Entrepreneurship
- Industrial Engineering
- Strategic Management
- Communications (with a strong interest in business/commercial environments)
Advantageous (Not Required)
- 0โ1 year experience in sales, business development, marketing, or commercial support
- University projects, entrepreneurship initiatives, case competitions, or student leadership roles
Preferred Skills (Exposure Beneficial)
- CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Monday.com)
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
