Job Description
As a Cashier at Pick n Pay, you will play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring smooth and efficient checkout operations. You will be responsible for handling transactions accurately, maintaining store standards, and assisting customers with their purchases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage the cash float before and after shifts
- Operate the till and barcode scanner accurately and efficiently
- Process all customer transactions, including cash, card, and other payment methods
- Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working conditions at the checkout area
- Prevent stock losses, damages, and shrinkage
- Follow all company security procedures and policies
- Clean and maintain equipment according to company standards
- Respond to customer queries in a helpful and courteous manner

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric certificate) is required
- Basic computer literacy will be advantageous
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Must reside close to the store in Brackenfell
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good time management and organisational skills
