📌 Job Description

Eerste River Hospital is seeking a dependable Driver (Light Duty Vehicle) to provide safe and efficient transport services. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting patients, staff, medical supplies, and official documents while ensuring compliance with transport regulations.

✅ Minimum Requirements

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence
• Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP)
• Proven driving experience (transporting people and goods)
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
• Willing to work overtime, standby, weekends, and public holidays

• Knowledge of Transport Regulations (Handbook 1 of 2019)
• Good communication (reading, writing, and speaking clearly)
• Strong responsibility and accountability
• Ability to work independently
• Safe and professional driving skills

🔧 Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport patients (with escort), staff, medication, and equipment
• Deliver and collect daily post and documents
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks
• Inspect vehicles regularly and report any defects
• Ensure vehicles are clean, safe, and roadworthy
• Follow departmental procedures and safety standards
• Provide support to supervisors and clinic operations
