SASSA Grant Payment Dates for June 2026

The South African Social Security Agency confirmed that social grant payments will begin during the first week of June 2026.

Official SASSA Payment Schedule

  • Older Person’s Grant — Tuesday, 2 June 2026
  • Disability Grant — Wednesday, 3 June 2026
  • Children’s Grants — Thursday, 4 June 2026

SASSA said the staggered payment system helps reduce congestion at ATMs, retailers and payment points across South Africa.

Beneficiaries are reminded that funds remain safe in their accounts and do not need to be withdrawn immediately after payment.

SASSA Grant Amounts for June 2026

The confirmed grant amounts for June 2026 are:

  • Older Persons Grant — R2,400
  • Disability Grant — R2,400
  • Care Dependency Grant — R2,400
  • War Veterans Grant — R2,420
  • Foster Child Grant — R1,290
  • Child Support Grant — R580
  • Grant-in-Aid — R580

SASSA also encouraged beneficiaries to ensure their banking details are updated to avoid delays in receiving payments.

Postbank Black Card Deadline for SASSA Beneficiaries

Postbank announced that all beneficiaries still using SASSA Gold Cards must migrate to the new Postbank Black Card before 31 August 2026.

  • Final migration deadline — 31 August 2026
  • New replacement card — Postbank Black Card
  • Existing balances will transfer automatically
  • No activation forms are required

Where to Collect the New Postbank Black Card

Beneficiaries can collect their new cards at selected retailers nationwide, including:

  • Shoprite
  • Checkers
  • Usave
  • Pick n Pay
  • Boxer
  • Spar

Applicants must bring a valid South African ID or temporary ID when collecting the new card.

SASSA Warns Beneficiaries About Fraud

SASSA and Postbank warned beneficiaries to remain alert against scams and fraudulent card replacements.

Only official Postbank-issued Black Cards are valid, and beneficiaries should avoid sharing personal information with unknown individuals.
