About the AB4IR Internship Programme

The Africa Beyond 4IR Internship Programme was created to help unemployed graduates transition from tertiary education into the workplace.

Successful candidates will receive structured workplace training while working alongside experienced professionals in the MICT sector. Throughout the programme, interns will develop technical knowledge, practical experience, and essential workplace skills that employers value.

The internship also provides opportunities to build professional networks and gain real-world experience that can strengthen future job applications.

Fields of Study Eligible for the Internship

Applicants must hold a qualification related to one of the following MICT SETA sectors:

• Information Technology
• Advertising
• Electronics
• Film and Electronic Media
• Telecommunications
• Marketing Management
• Music Performance
• Music Composition and Studio Work

Graduates from these disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

• Higher Certificate
• Occupational Qualification (NQF Level 5)
• Three-Year Diploma
• Bachelor’s Degree

The qualification must be relevant to one of the recognised MICT SETA sub-sectors.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the programme, applicants must:

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be unemployed.
• Hold a relevant qualification.
• Have a qualification aligned to a recognised MICT SETA sub-sector.
• Not currently be participating in another SETA-funded internship or learnership programme.

Important Notice

This internship does not accept N4–N6 TVET students who require Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

Students looking for WIL opportunities should instead apply for the MICT SETA TVET Placement Programme.
