About the Dispensary Support Programme
The Dispensary Support Programme is designed to help aspiring pharmacy professionals gain the knowledge and practical experience required to become Basic Pharmacist Assistants.
Learners will complete accredited workplace training while working under the direct supervision of qualified pharmacists. Once the training programme is successfully completed and learners are registered with the SAPC, they may be considered for permanent employment with Dis-Chem.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

- Be eligible to register with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Successfully complete the required proficiency test.

Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be trained to:
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medication.
- Help prepare and package medicines.
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines under supervision.
- Support stock receiving, unpacking, and merchandising.
- Monitor medicine stock levels and expiry dates.
- Maintain a clean and organised dispensary.
- Assist with prescription tracking and patient follow-ups.
- Support chronic medicine and medical aid authorisations.
- Provide professional customer service.
