Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Duties include processing payments, issuing receipts, handling cash and card transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
The role also includes general retail support such as stocking shelves, marking prices, and assisting with stock counts.
Key Responsibilities
- Process cash and card transactions accurately
- Count and balance cash at the start and end of shifts
- Issue receipts, refunds, and correct change
- Maintain an organized and clean checkout area
- Assist with stock taking and shelving duties
- Bag, wrap, and prepare merchandise for customers
- Handle daily transaction records and reporting
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- Computer literacy
- Previous cashier or retail experience (advantageous)
- Strong numerical and cash handling skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work accurately under pressure
