About the Programme

The Dispensary Support programme is designed for learners who want to complete the Basic Pharmacist Assistant Course. Successful candidates will receive workplace training and practical pharmacy experience while working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Once learners successfully register with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and qualify as Basic Pharmacist Assistants, permanent employment opportunities may become available.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Pure Mathematics with at least 50%
  • Life Sciences and/or Physical Science with a minimum average of 50%
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Computer and numerical skills
  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • South African citizenship

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will assist with:

  • Dispensing support duties under pharmacist supervision
  • Stock control and shelf merchandising
