The successful candidates will be responsible for providing effective cleaning and housekeeping services across Parliament buildings, ensuring that offices, public areas, and facilities meet high cleanliness and hygiene standards that support Parliament’s daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties in offices, corridors, meeting rooms, and public areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and surfaces
- Clean and sanitize ablution facilities and restrooms
- Empty waste bins and manage refuse removal
- Handle and store cleaning materials and equipment safely
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns to supervisors
- Follow cleaning schedules and comply with workplace health and safety regulations
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum requirement: Grade 10
- Grade 11 or a relevant equivalent NQF Level 3 qualification will be considered an advantage
- 2 Years’ relevant experience
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience will be an advantage
- Ability to perform physical tasks and work for extended periods
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
Skills and Competencies
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and hygiene standards
