Bidvest International Logistics (BIL) is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Assistant Controller to join its Ore Berth Sampling Facility team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate must comply fully with all SHERQ safety policies and procedures while performing their duties.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Prior experience in bulk material sampling (advantageous)
- Basic knowledge of bulk sampling processes
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct manganese ore sampling in line with ISO standards
- Supervise casual workers during sampling operations
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Assist with bulk stock control and contamination risk management
- Liaise with TPT and stevedores during loading activities
- Accurately record loading times, delays, and sample increments
- Perform routine checks and minor repairs on automatic samplers
- Ensure reclaimers are correctly positioned before loading
- Attend vessels during bulk loading processes
