As a Trainee Train Assistant, you will:

Prepare and inspect locomotives before departure
Perform brake tests and equipment checks
Handle coupling and uncoupling of wagons
Carry out shunting activities in rail yards
Monitor signals and communicate with the Train Driver
Ensure compliance with rail safety regulations
Complete train journals and shift reports

🎓 Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this Transnet Trainee Train Assistant vacancy, you must have:

Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and/or Physical Science
Be 21 years or older
Minimum height of 1.6 meters
Good physical and mental health
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and long hours
