About the Apprentice Fitter & Turner Programme
This apprenticeship offers hands-on training focused on mechanical fitting and turning. Participants will develop essential technical skills to work in the engineering sector, with exposure to machinery operation, technical drawing interpretation, and maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, and maintain mechanical components
- Read and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Operate workshop machines such as lathes and milling machines
- Maintain quality standards in production
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the apprenticeship, applicants must have:
- A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- At least an N2 Certificate covering:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Drawing
- Having N3 Mechanotechnology or N4 Mechatronics qualifications will be an advantage
Skills and Competencies Needed
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail in all tasks
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
