SAPS Graduate Internship Programme 2025/2026

The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites unemployed South African graduates and students to apply for its 12-month Graduate Recruitment Scheme for 2025/2026. Aligned with the National Human Resource Development Strategy and National Skills Development Strategy, this programme offers practical experience to develop skills in various fields.

Determined by the Divisional Commissioner: Human Resource Development (varies by province).

Eligibility Criteria

• South African citizen with a National Senior Certificate (NSC)/Matric or NCV Level 4.
• No criminal record or pending cases.
• Unemployed, with no prior employment or internship in the advertised field.
• Resident of the province where the post is advertised.
• Apply for up to three posts (submit separate applications per post reference).

Internship Categories

• Graduate Intern: Completed Diploma/Degree (NQF 6+, recorded on NLRD).
• Student Intern: Requires in-service/experiential learning to complete a qualification (institution letter ≤ 2 years old).

1. Download Form: Obtain the SAPS Graduate Recruitment Scheme application form from the Edu Student
2. Submit: Post or hand-deliver to the relevant provincial address (no faxed/emailed applications accepted).
3. Required Documents:
   • Updated CV
   • Uncertified copies of: SA ID, Matric certificate, all post-school qualifications with statement of results
   • Clearly indicate the post reference number and province on each application
4. Multiple Applications: Apply for up to three posts using separate application forms for each reference.

Selection Process

• Short-listed candidates may undergo fingerprint screening, interviews, and vetting.
• Only successful candidates will be contacted within four months of the closing date.
• Successful applicants must sign a 12-month internship contract.
• Participation does not guarantee permanent SAPS employment.
